November 2nd, 2011 - 11:35 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Nov 2 (IANS) A 33-year-old man posing as a ‘tantrik’ (godman) was arrested in west Delhi for repeatedly raping and blackmailing a woman and getting her property transferred in his wife’s name, police said Wednesday.
Mohd. Sanaullah was arrested Tuesday from his shop in Uttam Nagar, police said.
“The accused was approached by the woman as her husband’s transport business was not doing well and the family was facing financial problem,” said a police official.
The woman first met Sanaullah March 23 and paid Rs.5,000 to help improve her family’s financial condition. The accused called her the following day and gave her a drink laced with sedatives. As soon as she fell unconscious, she was raped.
“Sanaullah clicked nude pictures of the victim and then blackmailed her into transferring her property in his wife’s name,” said the official.
“The victim remained mum for some time but when the ‘tantrik’ started making new demands, she informed her brother who asked her to complain to police,” added the official.
