Man held for posing as deputy inspector general
January 21st, 2010 - 7:35 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Jan 21 (IANS) A man was arrested here Thursday for allegedly posing as a deputy inspector general (DIG) of police, posted at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Police claimed to have seized a fake identity card, two mobile phones and a Tata Safari jeep from him.
Acting on a tip off, the Special Task Force of Uttar Pradesh police nabbed Gulfam, a resident of Jarcha in Gautam Budh Nagar district, for allegedly misleading people and authorities.
“The CBI informed the UP STF of his activities. We arrested him from Shipra Mall in Indirapuram police station area,” Inspector (STF) Bijendra Singh Tyagi said.
