“When Lal again received a call on April 14, we found that the number he got the call from was activated the same day,” added the official.

“The accused again made a call and demanded Rs.2 crore. He asked Lal to deliver the amount near Madipur Metro Station. Around 8 p.m., police and Lal reached the site and arrested Azruddin.”

Azruddin was a labourer in Lal’s factory.

“As he needed money, so he planned to extort money from his employer. He had taken a loan to marry his sister and he was influenced by a TV serial,” said an official.
