Man held for killing air hostess academy helper

- New Delhi, July 10 (IANS) A man was arrested Friday for strangulating a Nepali woman who worked as a helper in an air hostess academy in the capital, police said.
Anuj Tiwari, a driver, was arrested from Uttar Pradesh’s Hardoi district Friday for strangling to death Geeta, 32, July 6 in the academy premises in Lajpat Nagar area in south Delhi, a police officer said.
“Tiwari had friendly relationship with Geeta and often gave her money and other expensive gifts. He had worked as a driver with the academy but was sacked few months ago,” the police officer said.
“Geeta had demanded Rs.3,500 from the accused but he refused. Later he came to give her the money and found her talking to someone over the phone. He suspected her of being friendly with another driver and following an altercation strangulated her,” the officer added.
