Man held for drug trafficking
September 16th, 2011 - 8:20 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Sep 16 (IANS) A 55-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was arrested in the capital with drugs worth Rs.50 lakh, police said Friday.
Idris was arrested Thursday from east Delhi’s Shastri Park where he had gone to deliver a consignment to a client. “We recovered 500 grams of heroin from him,” a police officer said.
According to police, Idris, a resident of Bulandhahar, was once a vegetable seller. He became a drug trafficker as he was unable to make ends meet.
“He procured heroin from Mandsaur (Madhya Pradesh). He was earlier arrested in 2001 for drug trafficking,” the officer said.
