Man gets life term for raping daughter-in-law
November 1st, 2011 - 11:34 pm ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Nov 1 (IANS) A Ghaziabad court Tuesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping his daughter-in-law in 2008 in Loni area.
Additional District and Sessions Judge P.K. Sharma also imposed a fine of Rs.48,000 on Akbar and said that “when a person in such a relation resorts to such an act, it sends out a very wrong message to society and hence there is no room for sympathy”.
The prosecution said Akbar, a resident of Amar Colony in Loni, married his son Azad to the victim, a native of Muzaffarnagar. Akbar raped her a few weeks after the marriage.
The victim complained to Azad but he did not help her, the prosecution said.
When the victim’s aunt visited her she narrated the incident to her and a police complaint was filed.
