Man, five minors held for thefts
March 2nd, 2011 - 10:02 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 2 (IANS) A man has been arrested here along with five children aged between 10 and 15 years whom he recruited to burgle houses, police said Wednesday.
The arrests were made in Janakpuri area Tuesday, Deputy Commissioner of Police V. Renganathan said.
The man was identified as Satish, a former security guard who recently became a scrap dealer. He trained the kids to enter locked houses through the bathroom window or kitchen exhaust.
Police seized $1,100, Rs.10,500 in cash, jewellery worth over Rs.1 lakh and many silver and bronze idols. The gang was responsible for around 10-12 burglaries in Janakpuri.
