Man falls to death at Mumbai airport

Mumbai, May 15 (IANS) A 32-year-old man, who had come to bid goodbye to a passenger, fell to his death at Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport in Mumbai Thursday. Babu Ibrahim fell from the parapet wall of terminal 2A near gate D of the airport.

While the police said the incident occurred at 5 a.m., airport sources said the man fell to his death at 2.30 a.m.

According to airport sources, Ibrahim was sitting on the concrete wall when he lost his balance and fell to his death.

“The passenger, who had accompanied the deceased, was called outside the terminal after the accident,” said an airport official requesting anonymity.

Police officials said that Ibrahim hailed from Kerala.

“We have not recovered any identification documents from the deceased except for his cell phone. We have informed his relatives regarding the incident,” a police official told IANS.
