Man dies of heart attack chasing robbers
August 9th, 2010 - 12:25 am ICT by IANSGhaziabad, Aug 8 (IANS) A 55-year-old man died of a heart attack after chasing robbers who had snatched his wife’s chain inside a temple in Hapur town of this Uttar Pradesh district Sunday morning, police said.
Devendra Kumar, a trader and resident of Gandhiganj, had gone to Savli temple with his wife Kamlesh. As the two were busy offering prayers, some assailants came and snatched away the gold chain of his wife. As it was crowded, the assailants managed to escape.
Though Devendra raised an alarm and chased the robbers, he could not nab them. He soon collapsed and was taken to the Devnandni Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police arrived several minutes later. A senior police official said that Devendra died a natural death.
