Man commits suicide after killing wife, sister-in-law

Bhopal, June 14 (IANS) A 30-year-old man committed suicide by jumping in front of a train after killing is wife and sister-in-law here Tuesday.

In another incident, a man and his 14-month-old daughter were critically injured when he set ablaze himself and the toddler after his wife allegedly refused to return home, police said.

They have been admitted to a hospital.

Manoj Kori, 30, a Ramlila Ground resident, first killed his 25-year-old wife Sabita Kori and later sister-in-law Sapna, 23, at his home.

“Manoj then went to the Baghsewania railway station area, jumped before a running train and committed suicide,” Inspector Nagendra Tiwari of Piplani police station told IANS.

Manoj and Sabita got married only an year back.

Police said they are yet to find the reason behind the incident.

In the other incident, Umesh Khatri, a resident of Ayodhya Nagar in Bhopal, set ablaze himself and 14-month-old daughter when his wife Kiran Singh refused to come back to their home, according to police.

Both had got married in 2009.

Kiran went to her parents’ house in May, telling her parents that Umesh had beaten her up and threw her out of their house, a police official said Tuesday.

According to the official, Umesh reached Kiran’s parental house Tuesday morning and requested his wife to return home. Kiran, however, refused to go.

He doused himself and his daughter with petrol and set them on fire.

Both the father and daughter were rushed to the nearby hospital where doctors described their condition critical, the official said.
