Man carrying illegal arms held
March 22nd, 2011 - 9:20 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, March 22 (IANS) A 35-year-old man carrying illegal arms was arrested in south Delhi, police said Tuesday.
“Binod Kumar Singh, who hails from Ballia in Uttar Pradesh, was held from Chirag Dilli area March 18 following a tip-off,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police H.G.S Dhaliwal.
Police recovered two country-made pistols, 10 live cartridges and four magazines from him.
He told police he brought the illegal arms from Bihar and was supposed to deliver them to two men in Khirki village.
Singh, a school dropout, used to get Rs.2,000 per delivery of illegal arms. “We are investigating and a hunt is on to nab others,” added Dhaliwal.
