Man burns mother alive in Haryana
February 1st, 2011 - 2:31 pm ICT by IANSSonepat (Haryana), Feb 1 (IANS) A 50-year-old man poured kerosene on his 70-year-old mother and burnt her alive here after they had an argument over his drinking, police said Tuesday.The gruesome incident happened in Shamri village, near Gohana town of this district, late Monday.
According to the police, Raj Kumar, a farmer, is a drug addict and habitual drinker.
“Raj Kumar was the only son of his parents. He had strained relations with his mother because she was against his bad company and drinking habit. Yesterday too they had a heated argument, following which Raj poured kerosene on his mother and burnt her alive,” Gohana’s Deputy Superintendent of Police Sadhu Ram told reporters here Tuesday.
“We have registered a murder case against Raj and started our investigation. He would be brought to court today,” he added.
