Man burns father to death in Chhattisgarh
October 7th, 2009 - 1:32 pm ICT by IANSRaipur, Oct 7 (IANS) A 32-year-old drunken man burnt his father to death following a minor argument at their home in Raigarh town of Chhattisgarh, police said Wednesday.
Bhagwano poured kerosene over his 51-year-old father Nandu Urao and lit the match late Tuesday in Urdana locality under Kotwali police station of Raigarh, about 240 km north-east of state capital Raipur.
“Poverty-hit Bhagwano had a heated argument on some family issue with his father, after which he set his father on fire,” a police officer said.
“Nandu Urao died at a hospital soon after his neighbours rushed him there for medical aid. Bhagwano has been arrested and has confessed to his crime. He told police that his drinking habit was the sole reason for the cruel act,” the officer added.
