September 22nd, 2009 - 2:26 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Raipur, Sep 22 (IANS) A man in Chhattisgarh bludgeoned his wife to death with an iron rod and then walked to a local police station to confess his crime, officials said Tuesday.
The incident took place Monday in Dhimrapur locality in the industrial city of Raigarh, about 240 km northeast of the state capital Raipur.
“We were stunned when Chinni Lal alias Anil, 35, reached the police station and began narrating how and why he had just killed his wife. It was a horror story when he told us how he relentlessly went on hitting his wife’s head with an iron rod despite her pleas of innocence,” K.K. Wasnik, Kotwali police in-charge, told IANS.
Wasnik said Anil claimed he took the extreme step as he had ample evidence that his wife Sita had an affair with a local youth. Kotwali police lodged a case and arrested him.
Anil married Sita 11 years ago and has two children.
