Man beaten up for protesting against daughter’s harassment, dies
February 12th, 2012 - 11:32 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Feb 12 (IANS) A man who was mercilessly beaten up for lodging a police complaint against some youth for allegedly sending obscene MMS to his daughter died at a private nursing home here Sunday.
Gopal Adhikari, a resident of Salaidanga village in West Bengal’s Malda district, had been critically injured after the youth attacked his house Wednesday and hit him and his wife Kalyani with rods and sticks.
The youths had been regularly sending MMSs to Adhikari’s college-going daughter’s mobile, police said.
After getting to know the identity of the youths, he made a complaint to the Gajol police station which led to the youths attacking his house.
Kalyani, who was also injured, is now back home.
The prime suspect has been arrested while the police are on the lookout for three other culprits.
