“Mohan Gupta had arrived at Hazaribagh central jail to meet a prisoner. His activities were suspicious and he was arrested along with 15 mobile phone SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) cards,” a police official told IANS over phone.
Police are interrogating the arrested man to ascertain his motive for carrying 15 SIM cards.
Police officials are also trying to ascertain the identity of the prisoner he had gone to meet.
“It seems that Gupta wanted to supply the SIMs inside the jail to Maoists or criminals. We will ascertain the truth after interrogation,” added the police official.
