Man arrested in Orissa for killing daughter
December 3rd, 2009 - 12:02 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Bhubaneswar, Dec 3 (IANS) A man in Orissa’s Dhenkanal district has been charged with killing his six-year-old daughter after his wife denied him money to buy liquor, police said Thursday.
Damodar Mallik, 42, allegedly killed his daughter by smashing her head on the ground in Koriaha village, located on the outskirts of Dhenkanal town, about 100 km from here Wednesday, a senior district police official told IANS.
Mallik, who works as a labourer, had consumed liquor Wednesday morning. However saying that it was not enough, he asked his wife to give him money so that he could buy more liquor.
When she refused, an angry Mallik killed his daughter by smashing her head repeatedly on the ground. Police rushed to the spot and arrested him, the official said.
