Man arrested in 6-year-old murder case
February 3rd, 2012 - 9:04 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 3 (IANS) A man was arrested here for involvement in what was said to be an unsolved six-year-old murder case, police said Friday.
“Mohd. Arif was arrested at Farashkhana Thursday. A button-actuated knife was recovered from his possession,” a police official said.
Arif, 24, a resident of Shastri Park, was involved in murder of a young person in Mewat, Haryana, six years ago.
“During interrogation Arif has disclosed that the deceased, Abrar Ahmed, was his neighbour and was trying to stalk his sister. Arif murdered Abrar on Dec 6, 2006, with the help of his cousin Shabbir using a butcher’s knife,” said the official.
“Arif had lured Abrar to Mewat, Haryana, on the pretext of meeting his sick grandfather and killed him,” official said.
The accused dumped the body parts at two different wells along with the knife used in the murder.
