According to a police official, Irfan, 32, was arrested from east Delhi’s Anand Vihar bus terminus Thursday for stabbing to death his second wife Shahana, 25, at their rented house in Seemapuri May 17.
Shahana was a dancer and had married the accused 11 months ago.
“He had caught Shahana in compromising position many times,” the official said. This led to frequent quarrels between the two.
“After killing her, he left for his home town Bijnore and thought police would not reach him as he had not revealed his address to anyone,” the official added.
