The victim, Reeta, survived and has been admitted to AIIMS for treatment.
The incident was reported in south Delhi’s Sanjay Colony on Jan 18 night when Jeetu, along with his cousin Arvind, returned to his house in a drunken state.
“Jeetu alleged Reeta of having an extramarital affair with Arvind. It resulted into heated argument following which Jeetu beat her severely until she fell unconscious. He then poured kerosene on her and set her afire, before fleeing the spot,” said a police officer.
Police arrested Jeetu from Haryana’s Manesar Friday.
