Man arrested for raping tenant
November 14th, 2009 - 9:47 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )New Delhi, Nov 14 (IANS) Delhi Police Saturday arrested a man for raping his tenant in Begampur area of Outer Delhi.
Police arrested Harish, 44, for raping his tenant Friday while her husband and children were away.
According to police, the tenants had not paid rent for the past four months, so Harish went to her asking for money.
“Harish lives in Sultanpuri area and runs a grocery shop. He has a house in Begampur area which he had given on rent to the victim. Yesterday he had gone to meet her to ask her to pay his rent. Her husband was away at work and her children were in school. Harish finding her alone raped her and threatened her with dire consequence if she told anyone about it,” said a senior police official.
The victim approached the police and lodged a complaint against the accused.
On her medical examination rape was confirmed.
“We have registered a case of rape against Harish and arrested him,” added the police official.
