February 3rd, 2010 - 9:41 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ghaziabad, Feb 3 (IANS) The Ghaziabad police Wednesday arrested a man for allegedly duping unemployed youths of money in lieu of providing them jobs.
The police said Pravin Kumar Mishra alias Kailash would distribute pamphlets at public places like railway stations, bus stands and busy commercial hubs. In the pamphlets, he guaranteed job in banks and financial institutions.
Acting on a tip-off, the police planted a decoy and struck a deal for a job in a general insurance company. Kailash was caught red handed at Sahibabad.
One of the victims, Rakesh, told this correspondent that after seeing the pamphlet he called up Kailash on his mobile number. Kailash invited him at the railway station, charged Rs.5,000 as advance and assured him a job with ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company. When Rakesh reached the company office at Gurgaon he found the appointment letter was fake.
“His modus operandi was to change his mobile number in every next set of pamphlets. Initially, he asked for the applicant’s photo, identity proof and resident proof, which he used for getting new mobile connections,” a police official said.
“Fake appointment and offer letters, mark sheets, photos, seals and registration forms were recovered from his possession,” the official added.
