Man arrested for credit card fraud
October 24th, 2010 - 11:39 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Oct 24 (IANS) A man was arrested for allegedly cheating another man of Rs.30,000 by procuring his credit card details and conducting online transactions, police said Sunday.
According to police, Yunus from Laxmi Nagar in east Delhi was arrested recently following an investigation into a complaint filed by Sharad Kumar.
A police said that a woman named Pooja contacted Sharad Kumar over phone in March last year and offered him a credit card of Kotak Mahindra.
“When he showed interest, they sent a man pretending to be the company’s agent and collected photocopies of his credit cards of Citibank and ABN Amro Bank,” the official added.
Using these, Sharad Kumar was defrauded of Rs.30,000, the official said.
