New Delhi, Jan 26 (IANS) Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee waved cheerily as a whistle blowing steam engine that has for long connected distant corners of the country rolled down the Rajpath boulevard during the Republic Day parade Tuesday.
The tableau showcased the Indian Railways’ vast heritage going back 150 years and the modern trains that are sleek, swift and luxurious. The steam locomotive blended seamlessly with a coach of the newly-launched Duronto Express.
