Kolkata, Oct 6 (IANS) Greeting the people on the occasion of Bijaya Dasami, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee Thursday hoped that the occasion would inspire the people to work with new energy.
“I wish everybody a sweet Bijaya Dasami. I hope that all people stay well,” Banerjee said here.
Idols of mother goddess Durga and her children were immersed in Ganga river and other water bodies across the state on the day, marking an end to five days of puja festivities.
“Many people are saying that today is a sad day. I think that this is not a sad day. This is the day of creations and creators,” she said.
“Enjoy the occasion and get yourself involved in works with new energy. I hope that the occasion will inspire all the people to work for peace and harmony,” she added.
