Major fire at multi-storied building in South Kolkata
March 29th, 2012 - 11:08 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, March 29 (IANS) A major fire broke out in a multi-storied building in South Kolkata’s posh business hub of Chowringhee Thursday, the fire department said.
Ten fire tenders were pressed into service to put out the blaze. No casualty was so far reported.
“The fire broke out on the tenth floor of a building at 50, Chowringhee Road. Ten engines are working to douse the fire. Evacuation of people from inside the building is also on. So far, there is no report of any casualty,” said a fire brigade officer.
