Bhopal, Jan 30 (IANS) A woman was killed and another injured when a Madhya Pradesh minister’s car hit them on a roadside here, police said Friday. The incident took place late Thursday night when Sarita Vajpayee, 60, and her daughter-in-law Sunita, 30, were waiting on the roadside after their two-wheeler broke down. They were returning from Ravindra Bhawan after visiting Lokrang mela (cultural event).
They were hit by Madhya Pradesh Minister of State for Labour Karan Singh Verma’s official car which was returning from Agra to Bhopal.
“Sarita who suffered critical injuries was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital by driver Sunil Pal where she was declared dead,” said Shamla Hills police station in-charge Kamal Jain.
The car has been seized and Sunil Pal has been arrested.
