Mac’s last movie was his best work, says Jackson
August 26th, 2008 - 2:55 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Aug 26 (IANS) Actor Samuel L. Jackson says that late comic actor Bernie Mac’s last movie would have made him a star because he gave a great performance in the film.Contactmusic.com reports that Jackson, who features with Bernie in the movie “Soul Men”, believes he would have been proud of it.
Jackson said: “He’s awesome in the film. I saw it a week before he passed away. I was talking to his manager, who said he never got a chance to see it. That’s a tragedy because it’s one of the best things he’s ever done. It’s the Bernie we know and it’s the Bernie we love.”
He added: “Bernie was thinner because he’d been sick for a while, so he wasn’t that (American) football-looking guy that I used to know.”
Bernie died Aug 9. He succumbed to pneumonia.
