Lt.Gen. Sibal to head Vajra Corps
August 17th, 2010 - 8:11 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Aug 17 (IANS) Lt. Gen. Munish Sibal Tuesday took over the command of the Jalandhar-based Vajra Corps from Lt. Gen. Ramesh Halgali, an army spokesperson said.
Halgali, who joined Vajra Corps July 24 last year, will be the new director general of military training at the Army Headquarters in New Delhi.
The Vajra Corps, or the XI Corps, of the Indian Army is a part of the Western Command.
At a function in Jalandhar, the general officers laid a wreath at the Vajra War Memorial and addressed the officers and men of the formation.
Senior retired officers and former servicemen also organised a farewell for the outgoing general who hails from Karnataka.
