Low intensity earthquake felt in Orissa

Bhubaneswar, Feb 20 (IANS) A low intensity earthquake was experienced in parts of Orissa’s southern district of Gajapati, the meteorological office here said Friday.
“The earthquake of 2.7 magnitude on the Richter scale occurred at 5.38 p.m. Thursday,” meteorologist L.D.P. Roy told IANS.

“Its epicenter was located at latitude 19.40 north and longitude 84.40 east in Gajapati district of Orissa,” he said.

The earthquake was felt at Mohana and nearby areas, about 350 km from here, the official said.
