Lightning strikes kill 10 in Jharkhand
June 8th, 2011 - 9:17 pm ICT by IANSRanchi, June 8 (IANS) Lightning strikes have killed 10 people across Jharkhand over the last 24 hours, police said Wednesday.
Two people were killed and two others were injured on the outskirts of Ranchi Wednesday afternoon, while five died here Tuesday night, a police officer said.
One each died in Chatra, Gumla and Koderma districts Wednesday.
Lightning has killed 29 people in the state so far this year. Annually, around 60 lives are lost due to lightning in the state.
