Lightning strike kills three in Orissa
April 4th, 2011 - 11:27 pm ICT by IANSBargarh, April 4 (IANS) Three people, including a minor, were killed and two sustained critical injuries in Orissa’s Bargarh district Monday after a shed where they had taken shelter was struck by a lightning, police said.
The incident took place near Tora village near the district headquarter Bargarh, some 380 km from state capital Bhubaneswar.
The five had taken shelter in the shed near an abandoned stone quarry due to inclement weather, police officer Ramakanta Sai told IANS.
Three people died on the spot, while the rest were taken to a local hospital, he added.
