Lightning kills four

Ranchi, July 8 (IANS) Lightning killed four people, including a woman and her granddaughter, Tuesday in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district, the police said. Rasida Begum and the granddaughter died in Bengro village, around 110 km from Ranchi. They were returning from the market when lightning struck them. Both died instantly.

In another incident in Salikurd village, Vikki Ram, his wife and two children were taking their meal when lightning struck. Ram’s wife was killed while he and the two children were seriously injured. A young man was similarly killed in Pandaria village.
