Kolkata, Oct 20 (IANS) Forward Bloc leader Naren Chatterjee Monday alleged that two unidentified men carrying a pistol had stopped his car and had threatened to kill him. The incident occurred when Chatterjee was on his way to Kolkata from his residence in Baidyabati town in Hoogly district, he told reporters here.

“Two unknown men on a motorcycle overtook my car and stopped right in front of it. My driver had to stop the car,” added Chatterjee, who is the West Bengal Agricultural Product Marketing Board’s chairman.

“One of the men started verbally abusing me and threatened to kill me. But he did not clearly say why he wants to kill me. The youth was carrying a pistol,” Chatterjee said.

Chatterjee said that after threatening him for about five minutes, the two men sped off on the motorcycle.

“I have lodged a complaint at the Sheoraphuli police station in Hoogly,” Chatterjee said.
