Leander Paes nominated Bengal tennis vice-president
November 30th, 2008 - 11:12 pm ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Kolkata, Nov 30 (IANS) Indian tennis player Leander Paes has been nominated vice-president of the Bengal Tennis Association (BTA).The decision was taken at the 67th Annual General Meeting of the BTA held at the BTA complex here.
“Leander has shown keen interest for the development of tennis in the state. So, we have included him in the BTA top management keeping in mind the interest of the game,” said BTA secretary Hironmoy Chatterjee, who was re-elected to the post.
Sushil Mehrotra was elected the president.
Among other vice-presidents are former football star Chuni Goswami and former Davis Cup coach Akhtar Ali.
