Lawyers in western Uttar Pradesh strike work
October 24th, 2009 - 1:28 am ICT by IANS ( Leave a comment )Ghaziabad, Oct 23 (IANS) Thousands of lawyers in 18 districts of western Uttar Pradesh struck work for the second day Friday demanding a bench of the Allahabad High Court in the region.
“We will not sit until our demand for a high court bench is not met, and will fight for it relentlessly. On Oct 31, the office bearers of bar associations of all districts of western Uttar Pradesh will hold a meeting in Meerut to discuss the situation,” Ghaziabad Bar Association president Shiv Dutt Tyagi said.
The bar associations of all 18 districts of western Uttar Pradesh are observing a three day strike Oct 22-24.
