Labourer crushed by falling girder
January 22nd, 2012 - 11:29 pm ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Jan 22 (IANS) In a freak accident, a 22-year-old labourer was crushed to death Sunday when a girder he was unloading from a crane fell on him at a building site in west Delhi, police said.
“The incident was reported in Adarsh Nagar area around 6 p.m. when Feroze was unloading the girder from a crane with the help of a pulley. The pulley broke due to which the girder fell on him. He was taken to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital where doctors declared him dead,” said a police official.
Feroze was a resident of Uttar Pradesh.
“We have filed a case of causing death due to negligence and the investigation is on,” said the official.
