Kurukshetra gears up for solar eclipse fair

Chandigarh, July 10 (IANS) The administration of Kurukshetra of Haryana has decided to extend an insurance cover to all devotees reaching the town for a holy dip on the occasion the solar eclipse Aug 1. All devotees reaching within a radius of 7 km of the town would be insured. Around one and a half million devotees are likely to take the holy dip, said an official spokesman Thursday.

The district administration has geared up for a solar eclipse fair, to be held between 4 p.m. to 5.55 p.m. that day.

Various committees have been constituted and instructions have been issued to all concerned officers about making arrangements well in advance, said the spokesman.

Parking facilities would be provided near the fair area for the devotees. To trace any missing children, identity slips bearing name, address and telephone number will be tagged to them, stated the spokesman.
