Kishenji calls for defeating CPI-M candidates
September 7th, 2010 - 12:21 am ICT by IANSKolkata, Sep 6 (IANS) Maoist leader Koteshwar Rao alias Kishenji Monday called for ensuring the defeat of the Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) candidates in the Jungalmahal areas of West Bengal in next year’s assembly polls.
In an audio message, the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist) politburo member Kishenji said: “The CPI-M has to be defeated in all the 42 seats of Jungalmahal as it has created an atmosphere of violence and anarchy in the region”.
Kishenji also accused the central government and the CPI-M of colluding to ensure the central forces helped the Marxists in setting up armed camps in the Jungalmahal areas(forested stretches in the three districts of West Midnapore, Bankura and Purulia).
He also pronounced a death sentence against one state minister and five other leaders of the CPI-M active in the Jungalmahal areas.
Kishenji said “It is (Home Minister P.) Chidambaram who is responsible for the armed camps”.
He alleged that the joint forces were helping the CPI-M to establish the camps and capture areas in the Maoist affected districts.
He said “people” will hunt down senior CPI-M leaders like Paschimanchal minister Sushanta Ghosh, Anuj Pandey, Dalim Pandey, Dipak Sarkar, Dahareshwar Sen and Prasanta Das and give them capital punishment for letting loose a reign of terror in the area.
He conceded that the CPI-M cadres now called the shots in areas upto Dharampur in Binpur block, but said “They have captured a few villages with the help of the joint forces, but that does not mean they won the war.”
He also demanded resignation of Chidambaram, as also Union Home Secretary G.K. Pillai, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K. Rosaiah and Andhra Director General of Police Girish Kumar holding them responsible for the murder of Maoist leader Cherukuri Rajkumar alias Azad.
