Kishanji’s niece flying to Kolkata to identify body
November 25th, 2011 - 2:03 pm ICT by IANSKolkata, Nov 25 (IANS) Top Maoist Kishanji’s niece Deepa will arrive here from Andhra Pradesh along with Telugu poet P. Varvara Rao Friday afternoon to identify the slain rebel’s body, kept in a hospital in West Bengal.
Disclosing this, Rao demanded that the body of Kishanji - killed in a jungle in West Midnapore district Thursday - be brought to Kolkata. The body lies in a Jhargram subdivisional hospital in the district.
“The authorities should embalm the body and preserve it. It should be brought to Kolkata for identification by Deepa. The postmortem should also be done here,” Rao told IANS over phone from Hyderabad.
Kishanji’s elder brother was ill while his mother is a cancer patient. Deepa lives in Peddapalli town in Andhra Pradesh’s Karimnagar district.
Kishanji, a politburo member of the banned Communist Party of India-Maoist, was killed by security forces.
