Kidnappers drop minor boy near house

New Delhi, Dec 10 (IANS) A six-and-half years old boy who was allegedly abducted two days ago from his south Delhi house has returned safely, police said Saturday. His aunt has been detained.

Krish was kidnapped Thursday from outside his house in New Friends Colony. The kidnappers dropped him close to his house Friday night.

“A probe is on to apprehend the culprits behind his kidnapping. The child’s aunt has been detained,” said the officer.

The boy was allegedly kidnapped by some unidentified people Thursday when he was playing cricket with his domestic help in a park.

“After a few hours, a phone call demanding ransom money of Rs.1 crore was received by the mother of the child,” said a police officer. The mother of the child approached police Thursday.

“But, surprisingly the boy was safely left outside his house last night (Friday) around 2 a.m.,” added the officer.

The officer said that child’s father and mother had taken divorce recently. A case regarding the custody of the child is still pending in court.
