Kidnapped Uttar Pradesh boy rescued, two held

- Lucknow, Nov 4 (IANS) The police Tuesday rescued a boy abducted from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and arrested two kidnappers, official said here.According to the police, Saurabh, 16, was kidnapped from the Ramnagar locality of Varanasi Monday while he was returning from school.
“The kidnappers, who have been identified as Karan and Prakhar, called up Saurabh’s father and demanded a ransom of Rs.5 lakh (Rs.500,000). The call was made on the landline number of the family and the accused used Saurabh’s mobile phone for making the call,” Additional Director General of Police (crime, law and order) Brijlal told reporters here.
The police took the number on surveillance and traced the kidnappers to the neighbouring Ghazipur district.
“The boy was rescued from a house in the Tarvadih village and the police were also successful in nabbing the kidnappers,” Brijlal said.
