New Delhi, Dec 3 (IANS) A one-and-a-half-year-old toddler who was kidnapped more than a month ago was found dead in a park here Thursday. In another incident, a 27-year-old woman was found murdered in the capital, police said.
The toddler, who was kidnapped Oct 22, was found dead in a park in Hari Nagar area of west Delhi in the early hours. The body was found wrapped in a curtain in a park behind Deen Dayal Upadhyay hospital by a passer by, who informed the police.

“The infant was identified as Hari Chand. His father Ramphal works as a labourer at a construction site of MCD. The father had lodged a missing complaint. We suspect the toddler was kidnapped by someone who did not have a child, but later abandoned the baby in the park,” a police officer said.

A case has been registered at the Hari Nagar police station and investigations in the matter are on.

In the second incident, the body of a 27-year-old woman was found with stab injuries in an unclothed state in the rented accommodation of a friend in Babarpur in Welcome area of east Delhi.

Police said the woman, identified as Bhoori, was found dead in the rented accommodation of her friend Naushad. The houseowner informed the police after foul smell emanated from the room.

“Naushad is missing after the incident. He is under suspicion. Bhoori’s body was lying in a naked condition and she appeared to have been killed around three days ago. Today (Thursday), when foul smell started emanating from the room, the houseowner informed police,” said a police officer.

There were stab injury marks on the throat. A case of murder has been lodged.
