London, Sep 2 (IANS) A thimble says that Kate Middleton will be the next commoner to turn royal after Diana Spencer. British designers at Birchcroft China are so convinced Middleton will become a permanent addition to the Royal household they have produced thimbles with her image.

Middleton, 26, has been the subject of constant speculation that she will marry Prince Williams with bookmakers continually offering low odds on a future marriage even though the pair split temporarily last April.

Woolworths offered a range of souvenirs to mark their engagement but they were later scrapped. The High Street chain had unveiled designs for mugs, mouse mats and even sweets bearing a picture of the Prince and Miss Middleton in 2006. But when no date seemed forthcoming the company had to drop them.

Birchcroft China’s new thimbles cost 4.40 pounds a set and show a full face shot of Middleton, wearing a variety of hats, according to The Telegraph.

In May, Peter Jones produced the very first piece of Royal memorabilia bearing Middleton’s image - a commemorative mug to celebrate the Prince’s passing out from RAF Cranwell.

The trinkets could become collectors items of the future. Items depicting Diana, Princess of Wales, are still popular more than 10 years after her death. Last month, a slice of wedding cake from her marriage to The Prince of Wales sold for 1,000 pounds.
