Karunanidhi announces Rs.100 crore relief package
November 30th, 2010 - 8:45 pm ICT by IANSChennai, Nov 30 (IANS) Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi Tuesday announced a relief package of Rs.100 crore for the people affected by heavy monsoon rains in the state.
The northeast monsoon has been active over Tamil Nadu since Oct 29 and the southern districts in the state have experienced good rains, damaging houses, roads and crops.
The chief minister also announced compensation of Rs.5,000 and Rs.2,500 for fully and partially damaged huts.
Compensation of Rs.2 lakh will be given to families of those killed and Rs.10,000 will be paid to those who lost their livestock.
