K. Subramaniam new Maharashtra police chief (Lead)
September 28th, 2011 - 8:56 pm ICT by IANSMumbai, Sep 28 (IANS) Adhering to the principle of seniority, the Maharashtra government Wednesday named Indian Police Service (IPS) officer K. Subramaniam as the next director general of police, an official said.
Subramaniam, presently heading the state police’s anti-corruption bureau, will take over from Ajit Parasnis who retires Friday, a home department official said.
Sanjeev Dayal, the DGP and managing director, Maharashtra State Housing and Police Welfare Corporation, will be the new chief of the anti-corruption bureau, in place of Subramaniam.
Subramaniam, an officer of the 1976 IPS batch, has served as the superintendent of police of Nanded and has held several key positions, including principal secretary, home.
