Junior engineer, worker held for seeking bribe
February 2nd, 2012 - 12:45 am ICT by IANSNew Delhi, Feb 1 (IANS) A junior engineer and a construction labourer of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi were arrested for demanding a bribe of Rs.20,000 from a house owner in east Delhi, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said Wednesday.
According to the first information report, the accused demanded a bribe of Rs.20,000 from the complainant for not taking demolition action at his two houses.
“A trap was laid and the accused worker was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe from the complainant,” the CBI said in a statement. The junior engineer was arrested later.
After their questioning, Rs.32 lakh and incriminating documents were recovered from their houses.
