October 28th, 2011 - 6:58 pm ICT by IANSKarnal (Haryana), Oct 28 (IANS) A judge holding court in this Haryana town had a narrow escape Friday when a man fired at him inside the courtroom, police said.
The judge, Hemraj, was not injured in the incident, the police said.
The assailant, Surinder, was immediately nabbed by police and court officials inside the court room.
“We have recovered a .315 bore weapon from him. We will question him regarding the incident,” a police officer said.
Police officials said that a case of the accused had been pending in the court for a long time and that could be the reason for him to attack the judge.
