Josh quits Minorities Commission, to work for Congress

Manmohan SinghNew Delhi, March 4 (IANS) Harcharan Singh Josh Monday resigned from the Minorities Commission, saying he wanted to work for the success of the Congress party in the Lok Sabha elections.
“I have offered my resignation to serve the party because I think that at this time my party require my services for the elections,” Josh, a former All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary, told IANS.

Josh said he wants the Congress to retain power under the leadership of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh.

“I want to work for the success of the party so that a government under the leadership of Manmohan Singh can be formed at the center for next five years,” Josh said.

Does he want to contest the Lok Sabha election? “It is up to the party. If the party asks me to contest, then I would contest. Otherwise I will continue to serve the party.”
