Jordin Sparks sorry for insulting Russel Brand
September 12th, 2008 - 1:49 pm ICT by IANSLondon, Sep 12 (IANS) “American Idol” winner Jordin Sparks regrets the way she tried to defend the Jonas Brothers after comedian Russell Brand mocked them at the recently concluded MTV Video Music Awards.Thesun.co.uk reports that Sparks was pretty upset with Brand for mocking Jonas Brothers for wearing purity rings and for their decision to remain virgins till they get married.
Sparks also wears a purity ring and she made an impromptu statement saying: “It’s not bad to wear a promise ring because not everybody - guy or girl - wants to be a sl*t.”
Sparks is happy she stood up to Brand, but regrets doing it in such an insulting manner.
She said: “I wish I would’ve worded it differently - that somebody who doesn’t wear a promise ring isn’t necessarily a sl*t - but I can’t take it back now. It was a split-second thing, and it came out kind of wrong.”
